Strategy Defense 2

"Good work"

submission: Strategy Defense 2
date: January 3, 2008

Just like the first, this is an original and fun RPG. However, there are a few flaws in this one:
- The Tank form is really, really overpowered. If you manage to get to level 18 before the final battle, the enemies do really, really pathetic damage to you. Also, even though the final stage of the final battle has many of the same enemy, your party members as do enough damage that one could kill all of them within 5~10 turns. Also, the player gets a bit TOO much money to spend, enough that the final few stages become pathetic in difficulty.

- I think that maybe you should and a few more usable spells (for the main character), as due to the HP of most of the enemies, magic (of your main) becomes of no use to you after the first branching. This adds on to the first part, as due to the lack of money spent on magic and magic replenishing items, you have a surplus of items that makes any damage taken a negligible amount.

Overall, very good game, keep up the good work!

Mardek Rpg: Chapter 2

"Just to Reiterate..."

date: December 17, 2007

...as you've heard me say it enough on the Fig Hunter Forums: This is by far THE best game you've made so far. Even when it's compared when the initial Beta Testing was released back in August, this shows a vast improvement in creativity [more sidequests, huzzah!] and implementing your distinct...eccentrities [Description of the Zombie Dragon in the Bestiary]. However, a few, very minor things could be done. First, next time, if the game requires as much processing power as this does, make a screen before the title where the message about requiring the latest version of Flash Player is the only message on the screen. Also, considering how many people have complained about the difficulty (which is fairly amusing, as I've found that the only 'difficult' boss is the Zombie Dragon, which is logical considering it killed Social Fox [people who say "The World Saviour's are too hard!", do everyone a favor and shut up.]), perhaps a 'difficulty setting' should be implemented. Then again, having a basic knowledge of your personality, the "easy" setting would probably give all enemies half their normal HP, triple the normal experience, and a note before the beginning of the game that would taunt the player for being too lazy to try and actually win. Ah well, keep up the good work, can't wait to help you Beta Test Mardek 3!

"Very nice..."

It's been a while since I've played a game on Newgrounds which was so high quality all across the boards. First off, I really, really like the gameplay style, it reminds me a lot of Fire Emblem and Advance Wars, except One unit against many, and only able to go either verticallly or horizontally during any given movement phase. Also, it was more of a challenge than many of the other defense/RPG games I've played here, but not so much that it became annoying. However, there are a few things you might want to change if you make a sequel/updates. First, the experience gauge needs to be made less simplistic. I understand that doubling the experience needed to uprgrade to each succeeding level is easy, but in the later levels it becomes a bit of a hassle. Second, it does get a bit repetitive after a while, as you still have the same unit (albeit in various forms) with just beefed-up versions of the same power-ups. Other than that, this game is amazing. Keep up the good work!

Chrono Eternity (B0UNC3 Remix)

"Good, though not as much as it could be."

date: January 13, 2008

When I heard for the demo you posted of this song, I was nearly sure that this would surpass "Paradise on E" in greatness as an audio track. However, hearing this, I was a bit let down that you changed the samples from the demo version that you used in here. However, since this is a remix, I understand that not everything could be up to par with your usual work, especially considering it's a 'gift' to someone. However, I am anticipating that the "true" full version of your demo will exceed my expectations (no pressure, really). Until then, best wishes, and keep up the good work!

Still seems you have the same skills that made you a legend due to your creation of Paradise on E. Can't wait for the full version, keep it up.
